London .NET user group July 27th: Extreme .NET

The plan for 27th July is to cover Extreme Programming. Considering our usual congregation the evening will be aimed at .NET developers, but considering the topic it should be fairly accessible to those who live on other platforms. The agenda is still being developed. Please contact me if you want to shape it, or you are an XP practioner and you want to contribute. I’m sure folks don’t want to just hear my experience of coaching an XP team. I have considered the following as possible parts of evening’s agenda so far include:
  • A 10-20 minute introduction and overview of the core practices (explaining how ideas like TDD and refactoring fit in).
  • The XP Game
  • An ‘Ask The Experts’ panel session in which folks can quiz assembled practioners on everything from ‘Does Pair Programming Work’, ‘Does XP scale to large teams’, to ‘How do I convince manamgement to go extreme’

In addition, in August we do not hold a talk – it’s the silly season – but if folks are up for a London .NET dinner, or beer, then let me know.
